Fusion Rainwater Harvesting System :


A way to solve world water crisis


Description


Rainwater still considered the least contaminated water source. Yet, most of the time it is just wasted drain to the river and finally to the sea. Even in the river or lake, most of them are seriously contaminated by human activities, i.e. industry waste, human discharge, waste water from cleaning, bathing, etc.


This method localize the rainwater harvesting by accumulate all the rainwater into a large and deep pond for future usage, especially for crops irrigation. The pond water can be collected as drinking water by go through proper filtration. Since this pond is located very near to the housing area, one will find it easy to collect the water for daily use.


All the above only describe the basic principal for this system and one should find themselves the solution in detail, example on fencing the pond, effective pond water collection for any pond water level from low to high, proper doors to release the rainwater in case of pond water overflow, put tarpaulin under the pond to reduce water lost due to water immerse back to the ground for high water absorption ground. Further improvement on this system include replacing all these vulnerable structures with a concrete one, from vertical deep down swimming pool like pond for maximum rainwater harvesting to concrete wall as barrier and concrete drainages. Some fishes should keep in the pond to eat the mosquito larva and other dangerous water insect. Lotus should plant on the pond as the large lotus leaf can reduce the water vaporization rate of the pond water during shiny day.


This system not only maximize rainwater harvesting, but one will find it easy to manage this system as it is not too big in size. Using this system we will less dependence on the local river or lake which may highly contaminated, located far away from home or dry during draught season, etc.

Fig. 7 - This 5m deep pond is very dangerous for human, especially children to approach. Therefore, fence should be made around this pond. The idea of deep pond is to maximize the rainwater harvesting during raining season
